Android 9.0 P Developer Preview 1 Launch Date Rumored

Android updates are strange animals, and while Google does like to release new versions of its mobile operating system every year, no updates will ever be announced long before most people can actually get their updates. which was announced the previous year.

Even so, the uniqueness of Android software, it is always an exciting time when we know that there is a new update on the horizon. That's the problem now, with more and more references about Android P starting to appear online.

Android 9.0 P Developer Preview 1 Launch Date Rumored

Generally, Google announces every new Android update early in the year, around March time. For example, Google announced Android O on March 21, 2017, and now we have a suggestion that we can see Android P present in the same month this year..

The latest suggestion of a March Android P announcement comes from notoriously accurate Evan Blass, with the leakster tweeting that Android P, in its initial developer preview form, is targeting a mid-March release.

If that turns out to be accurate, we should only have a week or two before we see what Google has done behind closed doors for about a year's crummy.

While we are not sure exactly what will be part of Android P, there have been a number of rumors. Chief among them is a suggestion that Android P will add special support for Android devices that use a notch design, similar to Apple X's iPhone.

This makes sense, especially given the number of Android phones announced during the recent Mobile World Congress that have notch at the top of their screen - and not always with the software that fits the notch.
